Saturday afternoon I decided to get out on the bike for a couple of hours as the weather was so good.

After about 15 minutes I arrived at a roundabout, only to see a fellow biker walking by the side of the road looking in need of some help. So, after a full lap of the roundabout I pull over and it seems that the chap had delivered a bike down to someone and was making his way back to shoreham (which was the way I was heading anyway) and was it possible for a lift?!

So, I did the good deed bit and he jumped on the back and we made our way to shoreham where I dropped him off at another roundabout where his mate was going to come and get him from.

So, I leave feeling good about myself having helped out a fellow biker in need.

Roll the clock forward by a couple of hours and I am making my way back home and I happen to pass the roundabout where I collected the chap from. Imagine my surprise when I glance down one of the side roads and see the same chap strolling up the road in all his gear still........

At this point I felt a bit miffed that my generosity had been abused for what it would appear someone simply wanting a pillion ride.....are my feelings justified?

Any comments?

He was back at the spot where I originally picked him up.

he told me he needed to get to shoreham which is where I left him. 90 minutes or so later he is back where I first met him....

Hmmmmmnnn

There always *used* to be a bloke that hung around thumbing a pillion lift from regular biker haunts such as Boxhill, Bury Hill, Newlands Corner...

He's been the topic of several discussions over the years on various forums - I'd say it was the same bloke.

All seems a bit weird to me... did he snuggle up close?
