Haven't wandered over to the 'two wheel' forum before now but I am looking for a bit of advice....

My son recently turned 16 and has got himself a Peugeot Speedfight 2. To try and make a quick buck, he bought a stolen recovered Piaggio NRG from one of his mates (2002 / 11k miles).

The ignition barrel is gone, as is the rear brake light, the throttle twist assembly is broken and the front fairing has been smashed. Those bits aside :), its in pretty good nick and starts (from the kickstart) and runs sweet.

Simple question - would he be better off sourcing 2nd hand bits, repairing the bike and selling it as a runner or stripping it for spares ?

New bits would probably cost close to what the bike would be worth (esp the front fairing). Are there any decent bike breakers around the Hants / Dorset / Sussex areas ?

Cheers all,

SS2.

Have a look on ebay. I've just got a 50cc bike and there are LOADS of parts for it, some new and some from breakers dirt cheap! Good luck to your son in fixing it up.

Cheers for that. There's a few bits and pieces on ebay and repairing the bike is probably the best way forward. I've never been one for breaking unless really necessary anyway.

Best get bidding and start finding local breakers
