A very quick google suggests the CFMoto Papio has a 126cc engine, which means its no use for the CBT/L Plate lot, which will be where the market is for a bike like that. Seems like a bizarre mistake to make, and one which should be fair easily rectified.

Which is a real shame because it looks great!

Perhaps.
I’m no scientist but surely thousands of these little commuters would be more beneficial overall than thousands of cars clogging up cities.

You're not wrong but emissions standards are a bit more complex than small engine = small fuel consumption. You can burn a small amount of fuel but make a load of emissions and pollution doing it.

True, bike MPG and emissions can be pretty high, and aren't proportional to engine size or even 'transport unit weight' if you like, compared with cars. But the environmental benefits of motorcycles are huge - in reduction of congestion which makes a big difference in pollution levels overall.

A Belgian study a few years ago found that if 10% of commuters switched to bikes, congestion would be cut by around 60%.

We can but dream. That being said, most people are crap at driving cars. God help them on something you can fall off.

Well that CF moto thing looks like a clown's kid's bike for one!

As for the bog seat, if it is good enough for Luca Marini..?

The UK is a small island and an even smaller market for bikes. There is no reason for any manufacturer to build anything for here. Equally, the weather is crap most of the time. Very few people want to ride in the cold and wet, let alone freezing temps and snow. Nobody is getting out of their car to get on a bike.

Someone is selling them on ebay without the boxes or other additions for around £5000 imported.

I'd love one dearly. Would be ideal for my 2 mile commute and then faffing around the city centre, picking up and delivering beer.

Having been to Japan and seeing how common they are, and the utilitarian vibe of the design, I am also sad these don't exist here, let alone for sale at dealerships in the UK...
