I have been back in the UK 2 weeks and decided to get a bike. I spotted an immaculate R1200RS,rang around for insurance and only 2 companies would take the risk. One was Bennetts at a not unreasonable £500.
The dealer phoned to say he would deliver tomorrow,I have just rung Bennetts to buy the policy and now the sts are declining to insure.

Tomorrow is going to be an interesting conversation with the dealer. The other insurer want £1200.

Did the quote with Bennett’s expire?

if not what was their reasoning for going back on their quote?

Had very similar when I bought an imported 300zx many years ago at a youngish age. Very reasonable quote, purchase of car agreed and then the insurers pulled the quote.
If I recall correctly, I think the original agent classed it as UK version even though id been very clear.
I kicked off, made them listen to the call which they did and after a fight they honoured it "but don't bother calling us next year".

I have looked at my phone records,I first phoned on Monday and then later in the day to amend from driveway to garage parking. Today they told me the quote was over 30 days old and that was the reason,the girl taking my call got quite shirty and said my recollection was impossible as the computer sorts everything out.

Comparison site - both. Amend a few details to see what works, some have set threshold algorithms on their prices when they ramp up?

I had to remove commuting off and reduce mileage of my Vstrom1000 that I had a shock on last minute!

Change insurance date/pick up to post weekend for best price.
