After quite a few track days I'm seriously thinking of changing my current road bike (R1) to a full time track bike. I have already located full race fairing and a set of spare wheels/Tyres.+Warmers Just need to find a Trailer. I've been told that putting slick's on I will need to change my suspension/Is this information correct & why

Thanks for any input

Just a word of warning: many track day companies will not allow a track (race) bike on their track days. Many stipulate that they must be road legal (apart from the ususal race zorsts, removal of number plates/mirrors etc.
I have my ex race bike (GSXR 1000) and was prohibited from doing a track day with a couple of colleagues at Cadwell for that very reason!
Also you are right in that your suspension will have to be 'worked over' or at the very least set up correctly if you are thinking of using race tyres. To replace suspension gets rather expensive, although I can recommend WP and of course Ohlins.
As race tyres are avilable in so many different compounds/versions, IMHO I would stick to good quality road biased tyres, they will still give you plenty of grip, just make sure you adjust the pressures to suit the track conditions! I used to use 207 GP's on my old blade!
Hope that this helps! Cerby
