My god, he can't ride for st!

The perceived pressure of keeping up coupled with inability is never a good combination. It's all about riding with people you trust.

Yes it’s something I avoided after participating and indeed organising group rides on here about 10-12 years ago, they are no fun, too many different abilities means people end up riding beyond their capabilities and it never ends well.

It's a trap a lot of newer riders fall into, playing keep up with the leader. I've fallen into it myself, though never crashed whilst doing it.

If I'm riding in a group I ride at my own pace, and suggest everyone else do the same. If the speed is sensible you'll all end up together somewhere down the road.

Saw this type of riding at least 5 times today, overtaking on corners, double whites etc.

He was lucky not to be killed by the oncoming traffic when he tried to pass that blue Citroen. He was lucky not to be killed when he ran out of ideas over that double white line. If I was him I'd give up before he runs out of lives.

That is stunningly bad riding. The bit where he overtakes the blue car with the oncoming Transit...fking hell. Clearly a bit hard of thinking to then put it on YouTube. Plenty of that video to see him a pedestrian for a long, long time

Its this sort of idiot who give bikers a bad name.
Guy was clueless how to ride.
That said, hope he wasnt to badly hurt, but time to hang up the helmet.
This is why ive always told mates to get some track tuition, at least then you can ride the bike and know what its capable of, it would have probably made that corner ok if he knew what he was doing.

Whilst I agree about the dangers of group riding, this video more about a bunch of idiots who ride badly and too fast

Bloody hell. Should have called it a day after trying to overtake that blue Citroën.

I remember back in the day… mates with GS1000s, Z1000s, MHR rep, goldwing GL1000, CB750kz. GT550 triple, BMW bricks, NSR125 and such like, me on my cb250rs… riding like knobs (sometimes) and me trying to keep up. Back then there could have been a couple of pints too. We got away with it on those rides. Thank goodness. Was it different back then? Probably not. Just that all of the social media stuff makes it more public. I’m not making any real point… just reminiscing about stupid things I did, got away with, and enjoyed.

idiots who's ego outstrip their tallent ride solo as much as rhey ride in groups. Thinking this is a result of group riding and not a result of the chap bieng an idiot shows a lack of understanding of reality.

We did have some good days out though!

I think if you’re watching your “mates” ride like that and can’t work out that they’re retards then this is how you end up when trying to stay with them.

I’ll only ride with certain people these days, it just becomes hard work as others have said.

Not a group riding problem but an idiot problem. Nearly died at the Citroën, must've made the poor bd coming the other way st it. Then the double white line overtake, glad he missed the cars, purely for the drivers benefit!

Very lucky, very stupid.

He’s a pretty poor rider with no idea of restraint, if the overtake is not on don’t be a dick and go for it anyway

Am I hallucinating? He overtook on solid double whites, binned it, and then posted the video online? Words fail me.

Looks like the road from Fort William to Spean Bridge, which is a great road but all too common to see groups riding like this.
He needs to hang up his keys and call it a day. He’s used up all his luck.

Pretty much this^^^

He's riding to keep un touch with the guys ahead rather than riding the road and conditions in front of him.
Even before he gets sucked into the overtake on a blind left with double solids (they're there for a reason muppet!) he's desperately trying to keep up. Problem with group rides over 2 bikes, the slower riders are in the rear and can easily ride beyond their comfort zone just trying to keep in touch.
Our rides were simple. Wait at any junction off the road you're on and regroup.
But group riding only works with people who know and trust each other and can stow their ego. We used to have epic rides in SA but if someone invited "someone they know " it invariably turned into a st fest as they were unfamiliar with us, the speed and trust in each other and usually thought it was a road race.... I even got wiped out by a clown thinking mach 7 in a town was cool whilst we were stopped waiting for a car to turn across us from a blind side road. Eventually, it was three or four of us max and no bringalongs

I'm sorry to say but if you play silly games and you get silly prizes. He almost killed himself earlier when he tried to pass two cars at a time then overtook on the solid line risking his own life and others. I hope that he's okay but he needs to have his license taken away.
