Looking to plan a potential trip in 2025. Wife is talking about going to see her sister in Newcastle, Australia, and taking our wee one with her. As she'll start school in the autumn this is the last option to do so with cheaper flights...

As I shall not be joining them, the FireBlade and I will be off on holiday. One plan is to go to the Harz Mountains to see the steam trains, and Minatur Wunderland in Hamburg. I'd sail from either Newcastle or Hull.

However, sometimes what the Germans and I think is a good biking route can vary hugely. I remember one very disappointing day between Heidelberg and Trier. 5 stars on Bestbikingroads.com from many users...and mostly 50 kph through villages that weren't very scenic. Any thoughts on good roads in these parts?

Hooray Glad the video helped. The Harz mountains is fab - although some of the shorter scenic roads are sometimes hobbled with 50kmh limits, but not many.
