This looks a brilliant little machine and from a distance / side profile it really looks like it could be from the 70s. Made in Japan too!

Michael Neeves seems to really like it.

I’d honestly prefer one to Hornet 1k SP.

I like that. Though 20bhp from a 350 is pretty stingy.

I had to do a double take at the price, even cheaper than some ot the Enfields AND made in Japan!

The only thing I think that's lacking is spiked wheels. I think that would set it off better.....

I used to think these were horrendously underpowered but having ridden a few low capacity bikes in recent years they're incredibly good fun.

It’s air cooled which I assume is part of the reason for the low output. My CB125r used to be 14hp. So I can’t see why this couldn’t be 30. But we are where we are.

For what it’s worth. I liked my little learner Honda. Wish I had kept it.

A 500cc twin in this would be sweeeeeet!

I noticed that there is now a Triumph Speed T4 400 on sale in India. Detuned from 40bhp to 30bhp and costing less than the Honda (I think - there are several 350 models).

Honda H’ness CB350 price from 209857 >>>> https://www.hondabigwing.in/cb350

Triumph Speed T4 price from 199000 >>>> https://www.triumphmotorcycles.in/motorcycles/clas...

Manufactured in India, I believe.

Very tempted by one to just potter about on but then think maybe a scooter would be more useful for that. When I started riding I think the gb350 is what I pictured having.

Looks crap and comes in 3 delightfully crap colours.

My Honda SS50 looked better than this and came in a candy metallic blue.

I sold Hondas from 1981 to 1982, the heyday of eurostyling and classy metallic colours. Even my CB250RS came in a lovely metallic blue and my Gold Wing metallic red was stunning. Yep, the paint jobs on Honda's used to be a real draw.

My born again biking from 2013 to 2019 featured a Honda MSX125 and a Suzuki SV650S, both in boring black as other colours were harder to get hold of. Both good looking bikes. The MSX was made in Thailand and it showed. The Suzuki was made in Japan and was far better built, you never used to be able to say that.

This is as drab and dull as a bike can get. All IMHO rofl

Looks to be Japan manufacture. Hence the appeal and surprise at the price!

Edit. Different sources report with Japan or India.

What are the three crap colours? I can't be bothered looking and I am not overly interested in the bike.

Regarding the CB250RS the one a PHer bought in 2023? still looked good to my eyes, especially the tail piece with a badge on it.

If the Hornet SP came in the white of the Neeves MCN GB350S review bike, and it's a gloss or pearl lacquered finish that would address the matt grey paintwork that's putting me off.

An early 1960s Velocette Viper (350cc, air cooled OHV single) put out 28bhp and wasn't particularly stressed. 20bhp seems very low even with modern emmissions strangulation!

2 shades of bluey grey which I swear are identical on Honda's website, and the black.

I think it's a sweet little bike. Uncomplicated, 95mpg and a handful more poke than a 125 for occasional motorway work. Get a good few tanks of fuel with the change from £4000 as well. It's not going to be a thriller but as a commuter or weekend bimble abouter, it'll be lovely.

It's a pretty little thing, that would be perfect for a summer evening bimble about, except for the colour options... Deep mud grey, puco (puke-o) blue, who makes these decisions?

The sub-£4000 retro arrived in dealers last month and shot to the top of both the modern classic category and the 126-500cc segment with 72 registrations.
Some of those will be dealer demonstrators?

Like the look of them, but even my XMax 300 scooter puts out 28hp? 20hp out of the 350 is a bit wheezy?

Was thinking of replacing the xmax with one of these, maybe I'll have to find a test ride first though?

Would a yellow one like the Meteor 350 yellow look good? I think the 400-Four came in a bright yellow.

The original 400-4 in 1976 was available in blue or red. These were replaced by yellow in 1978.
