Apols if this is a dupe post, didn't see one.
The London bike show is this weekend: https://www.mcnmotorcycleshow.com
2 of us are going and I'm weighing up if I should drive and park (car not bike) or take pubic transport. Anyone got a good tip for parking at Excel? The official parking is a total rip-off, Just park is basically on someone's driveway nearby which is probably OK. Driving will be quicker, warmer, cheaper, less standing around in the cold waiting for trains etc. Can live with a tenner for parking at the NEC but £25 at Excel is a joke.

They have subsidised the parking this year £12.50.
If you book your show ticket you’re sent a code to use for the Excel parking website.

Also Excel parking is now all book in advance, no machines there and you need to book the parking at least 12 hours ahead. Nearly got caught out last weekend going to the F1 exhibition.

Still an expensive day out for a small show but I enjoy it. thumbup

Thanks, I was looking for where you book parking so that's good to know. It is expensive but I skipped the NEC last Nov as that seemed to have less and less manufacturers or smaller stands so I'm looking forward to getting a "fix" this weekend.

I went with my Son last year and have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It is an expensive day out but it was relatively quiet and easy to get around all the stands and sit on the bikes without fighting crowds ten deep like the NEC the last time I went (which admittedly was probably 3 or more years ago).

The food stands were good, and it wasn't a bad turn out of manufacturers either. We drove and parked there.

I always enjoyed the Excel show, although I haven’t been for a few years as I’ve not been working in London and it’s a long hike from where I live.

It was always good to buy riding gear there.

All booked up now, Mr Dendrite was correct, when you book the tickets you get a code to book the parking for £12. Just need to dodge the bridge toll via the Blackwall tunnel now!

I wouldn't be parking on someone's driveway about there.

I went last year , i doubt i will go again. Quite a small show with the expense of the NEC, another thing is the food and drink stations are cash free .

I'm going on Saturday as a relative got me tickets for Christmas, otherwise I probably wouldn't bother as the Excel is a pain to get to. Even more so as the Elizabeth line is closed this weekend for engineering works. It's not the biggest show but it's still a decent few hours out.

Why not? I do every year and in a selection of vehicles, its just London ...

I'm going Sunday, and parking on someone's drive booked via JustPark

Some pics from Toronto today.

Really like the R9. Apparently the R1 will still be available here until 2026.

The Tiger 800 was smaller than I expected, still a nice bike though.

New Speed Twin 1200, I hate what they've done with that new off centre round screen, give me the dual analogue dials any day

The two Triumph 400's are such a bargain and look great

As I've said elsewhere, Honda Canada have completely botched the pricing of the new 1000cc Hornet, it's $20K here and makes absolutely no sense at all at that price. Plus the seat is uncomfortable.

Do like the Fireblade

A bit of carbon

Very nice

Very nice indeed

I was at ExCel yesterday.

The single offset clock is something I dislike as well. It can be found on some Enfields and XSR Yamahas as well as the Speed Twin. Clearly somebody, somewhere thinks it’s a good look. Hopefully it’s a fad that will pass.

I have a Trident 660 so I’m always interested in its derivatives. I think my knees would protest quite quickly on the Daytona. I rode the Tiger Sport 660 last year, would test the 800 but would be all over a Trident 800. I rode a Speed 400 last year as well. Nice bike but I would need to get used to the lower rev limit and low ratios in the first three gears: pulling out onto a dual carriageway I hit the rev limiter in first, second and third.

I sat on the Hornet 1000SP and my size 11 boot was touching the exhaust heat shield. Not sure why it has to be so upswept.

Henry Cole’s stage was packed. When Allen Millyard fired up the Nemesis I recorded a peak sound of 128.9dB on my phone and I was seated off to one side of the bike. Fabulous! I look for to seeing it being ridden in anger. 500 hours of work from Allen so far.

That Triumph scrambler would look a lot better with spoked wheels.

For me, the Superveloce 1000 is the prettiest bike of the last 2.5 decades since the F4!

From that angle at least, to me it looks like the spawn of a hayabusa that fell downstairs during pregnancy and smoked a lot

Went today. Really busy, which was great to see, and a fair few young people as well, which was even greater to see!

Have to say, enjoyed it much more than the NEC. Felt like much less of an exercise in extracting money from me. The stages were really good and the flat-tracking was genuinely brilliant.

Every manufacturer was there. Kawasaki had the best stand and Triumph the best bike range. My favourite bike of the show was either the Kawasaki Z900RS or the new BMW CE-02, the electric scooter (yeah, I know).

KTM had the smell of death about it. Everyone the stand was talking about their financial problems, ‘I wouldn’t buy one now’, which is a shame because their bikes looked amazing, as usual.

Great day out, we got early bird tickets, so it was good value and we were able to go into town for good scoff afterwards. Lovely day.
