Looking like a decent weekend so who's doing bikey things?

I'm going to see how the progress on my Norton's transformation into a cafe racer is getting on this afternoon. Might try and get out on one of the Velocettes too if I get a chance smile

Hope the Norton progress is going well.

I found a bargain basement K1200R on eBay a few weeks ago, at £1900 was definitely worth a look. Deal done and other than the 100+ mile ride home in the rain and wind I've not ridden it, so hopefully get out on it and see how it performs.

Those K1?00Rs always looked good, in a weird Transformers way! I hope you have a great time with it but do check out the EuroKClub website for the list of things you'll need to keep an eye on.

I'm hoping to get the fairing back onto the H2 SX having done some minor upgrades to it over the winter, including the fitting of a radiator guard. If that happens on Saturday and I can get the grass cut then I'll see if I can get out for a ride on Sunday.

Off to Wales

Bored of riding around in circles, I'm thinking of joining English Heritage (The clue is in the name but they have several near the Welsh border) so I have a destination in mind

I'll pick one and see if it works

Potentially collecting my Norton from getting its PPF fitted. It will be getting collected in the van though and shoved back into the garage, theres still quite a lot of salt on the roads here. Might take the Speed Triple out for a little run if it stays nice.

Changed the weeping fork oil seals on the ST1050 last week.
This weekend I'm fitting new batteries to both the ST and the GSXR1000 and checking them both over before they go for an MOT later this month.
Oil & filter change on the RS660 then fitting a new USB charger as the old ones display has gone off.

Hopefully if I can get a Highlands trip in early next month ill be taking the triumph so will give me a chance to test out my new Alpinestars Andes V3 kit and RST paragon 6's

Did ride last weekend to get the rust off. Would like another spin this weekend and to possibly have a few test rides but I've got so much I should get done, I may have to be sensible.

Probably a nice run down to Beachy Head, one of my favourites.
Tricky weather forecast - I think Sunday may be the best day, or maybe I could do Saturday & Sunday. Decisions, decisions.....

Yes, a strange but mechanical design. And yes, lots of faults on these, some of which are present hence the price. I did have one before in 2015, but that was a 2008 model where they fixed the rubbish jerky fuel injection, sadly this is an 06 so hopping down the road at slow speed is how it'll be most likely.

How you getting on with the Kawasaki? No true comparison but I had a Z1000sx and thought it was a properly excellent bike. Would love a H2...

Or one of these, fantastic looking things in an obviously obtuse sort of way!

Getting my new tires put on this weekend. I don't have a front lift so rachet straps to the roof have to make do. I never really liked the Metzler Racetec RR's fitted as standard, they only really felt good on hot days (30C+). Otherwise they just felt a bit too hard. The Dunlops feel soft to the touch even in my freezing cold garage in comparison.

Hopefully get out with Mrs Safari for her first ride on her new Ducati Scrambler since taking delivery of it in January.

Probably put the SV650 up for sale.

Flail around like handicapped T-Rex trying to get in and out of my new one piece leathers.

So, a game of two halves!

The Norton isn’t far off. He’s finishing off the wiring, the wheels will be built this week and he’s making a seat then it’s ready to fire up. The bloke’s a machine, he’s done in a month what it would take me two years to do!

The Venom’s had new valve springs and a new inlet guide and valve. We’ve also knocked the ignition right back and first impressions are it’s done the trick. Fired up easily and sounds more like a Velocette, more of the crisp crack to the exhaust note rather than the dull thud it had.

Annoyingly the clutch won’t free, suspect the plates are stuck so need to sort that before I can give it a test ride smile
