Well took my CBT today I’m 70yo and never rode a bike before found the gear changing a bit of a challenge. On the bike about 7hrs I’m knackered but I scraped through on the skin of my teeth. Know to find a bike etc when my nerves settle LOL

Congratulations !

Are you going to do your full licence or stick to the 125's?

Cheers for the replies guys. Hoping to go for the full test I would like a classic bike 70 or 80 650cc size but see how it goes.

Congrats.

It takes some getting used to when you have been driving and using your foot instead.

It does get easier very quickly and becomes 2nd nature.

A bigger bike helps also.

Well done mate! My wife did hers last month and she really struggled with the gears.

Bought her a new Zontes something or other 125 for £2K and she's out a few times a week on it. She's very used to it all now and is already craving more power!

Anything of that calibre will be fine as long as it has been looked after. The only reason we went new was the deal on the table was so good - check out Zontes they are a very cheap no frills brand but perfect for learning on.

I don't know if it would be a decent first bike but I like the look of that.

Congratulations on getting your CBT.

I bought a push bike about three years after getting back on motorcycles and on my quiet road and local alleyways on it I seem to have reverted to my inner 8 year old.
