Any ZX6R riders out there?
Discussion
I test rode a ZX6r K5 bike on Saturday - and loved everything about it. Cracking little bike.
Only one problem - it is without a doubt the worst bike I have ever ridden on a motorway, due to the lack of protection from the wind.
100Mph felt like 150! and faster than that, I couldn't concentrate on road as I was too busy concentrating on not blowing off the back of the bike.
Anyone have one? How do you get on with it? This one had the standard factory screen, the dealer did suggest the aftermarked DB Kawasaki screen, but just wondering if this makes the bike more bearable.
I can put up with not being able to see the clocks as the bike is so good, not sure if I can put up with falling off the back on a motorway everytime I accelarate!

Yeah that is the bike I mean.
The guy in the shop said the biggest problem with selling them was that people found them uncomfortable, but I had no problems with the comfort, actually really liked it.
Maybe something to do with testing the CBR600RR before it - which is probably the most uncomfortable bike ever!
It was just the wind on the motorway - I think I will go back and get them to fit a DB screen and try it again.
Not before trying the GSXR750 first! (may have to wait for next years model for a demo now though)

Yeah, the whole riding position felt stupid to me as it was far too extreme for a 6 footer around town.
That all changed as soon as I got it out onto a country road and cracked the throttle open WOooooooooooooooooo
Best all rounder ZX6R will be the first 636 (A1) Because it's as big and comfy as mine, but with the bigger engine - Also it's still carbs so you can do shotguns
Not sure why you had such trouble on the motorway though... Then again, I'd just been riding the Z1000 at 140mph, (on a track obviously) now that is windy!

OK, I'll tell you, but if anything goes wrong don't blame me!! Once the bikes warmed up (exhaust needs to be warm)
Ride along with the revs fairly high (depends on your bike but you'll find below a certain RPM it doesn't work proeprly)
Hit the kill switch
Twist the throttle (make sure the kill switch is engaged or you might just do a wheelie!)
Shut the throttle and disengage the kill switch and the engine should restart.
Listen for a loud BANG (and flames at night if you've got it right!!)
Lots of fun!!
