On the motorway today I was in the car in lane 3 making progress and noticed this thing with a rapid closing speed. I recon it must have been close to 90 when it was slowing as we all then spotted a trafpol car in lane 1.

Any idea what it is? That speed on those wheels feels terrifying but I had to double take, my initial thoughts was the fastest Just Eat in the universe. On the nearside it had a 2 pint semi skilled milk strapped to the foot well

Agree on the Vespa.

Looks to have an aftermarket can so may have a couple extra ponies.

Even so it would be at top speed around 90mph so may have had engine work too if it was doing more.

I was doing 80 so I estimate it much have been touching 90 closing speed

It looks like a vespa 300.
Most 300/350 scooters will nudge 90, and 500/600 class will do the illegal side of 100 easily enough. It plays havoc with the fuel consumption though

There is the option of mounting a small compressor, boosting the hp from 17 to 34 :
