I've googled the life out of this and seem to get results regarding wrist pain but mine seems to be in the base of my right thumb and outside of my right hand. It starts after no more than 5mins on the bike. Now it does seem to go when I get into the twisty sections and during more spirited riding but its there during low speed or upright riding. Is this me leaning on it or gripping to hard during the stuff that requires less rider input and then "relaxing" into the bike during the fun bits? I've tried new and larger gloves, thicker grips and bracing my core more with seemingly no luck.

Any advice?

Could just be the angle your arms are at in relation to the bars, or the diameter of the grips. Need to experiment a bit. Try adjusting the angle of the bars slightly, rotate them forward or back a few mm in the top clamp. You could also try some grip puppies, check the size you need for your bars, link below

In my case it’s bone on bone - note the scar at base of my thumb. My hands took a terrible beating in a bad off 15 years ago. They fitted a carbon fibre disc in early 19, I couldn’t ride for 4 months after, but just 2 years later it was giving me agg.
Was told the C B disc had worn ffs.
My right hand is now really bad, zero grip in my thumb, if I go to pick anything up using my thumb, unless I concentrate it just falls on the floor - they told me in 22 that they would be fitting a mini hip type joint ( and re doing the left one ) but I’ve heard nowt from them since.
Chronic lack of hand surgeons, they don’t like the hand as so complicated and ops go wrong….
I’m still on an R1 and 1098S ( Ouch ) plus a GSX-R1000 though…..

And, every time I’m struggling and in pain I think back to that balmy summer of 1978 at Quicksnacks at Whips Cross East London & that amazing guy called Frank with his Jota who took the time to speak to that spotty youth on his GT250A & explained just how he rode his Jota with just ONE arm And could pull the brute onto its side stand. Everything else just pales into insignificance……

I bought a pair of these to try after suffering hand/wrist pain. They helped massively to be fair and worth a try for £6 or whatever they are...

It was years ago, but adjusting the bars and/or levers cured mine.

Sounds daft, but is the suspension set too hard? Increased vibration?

Really sorry to hear that. What won the group test?
