Evening all,

I’m looking at getting back on a bike after around 17 years out the seat. My first and last bike was a 1997 CBR600R which I had for around two years before a new baby forced me to make some tough decisions.

Family life and improved maturity with age means that I’m now better placed to start riding again.

I have a budget of between £4k and £5k and would like something no more than around five years old. As I’m a bit older than I used to be, I’m drawn away from the fully faired sports bikes and attracted to naked bikes.

So far I have looked at the CB650R and Triumph Trident but would welcome the thoughts of more experienced riders.

Thanks in advance.

The stock reply -- Triumph street triple, don't worry about the budget only stretching to a bike older than 5 years, it's a naked and will still be quick enough to remind you of when you ripped about on your Honda, they are a cracking used buy in your price range.

Apologies. Will just be for fun and maybe the odd commute when the weather is nice.

Still a great looking bike, IMO, the SV. Kinda timeless, really.
