There’s a (clearly insane) guy currently doing 1k miles a day for charity across the US.
Started 132 days ago with the goal of doing 125 days snd is now keeping going as long as he raises 1k a day.
Obviously he’s now a record breaker.

The bike is a 2025 Indian, modified with an aux fuel tank, pelican case for luggage, various satnavs, and drinks bottles.

So far 10 back tyres, 7 fronts, some fuel pumps and one stator.

As far as I can tell it’s just on Facebook,

I was typing a reply to agree with you, then I thought about it and I can see the appeal of sitting on the Interstate on a very comfortable bike, watching the world go by for a few days... As long as it's scenic! I've never ridden in the US so I may not have the right picture in mind though!
That said, considering the time needed to swap tyres and mechanical bits, 1000 miles a day, every day for 130+days, at legal speeds, is some achievement.

I think he must be riding between dealerships for servicing half the time!

A guy on a Harley did 100k in 100 days, so he is trying to beat that record.

Well he’s done that by about 30%!

The furthest I’ve ridden in one day is about 650 miles on a speed triple, London to Aberdeen with a detour to see people in the middle.
This was after a 2500 mile week around Germany, I took 3 days to recover

His bike seems to be holding up fairly well, having done more miles in 4 months than most will do in about 20 years.

Reminds me of an article I read about this guy recently who drove non-stop for 6000+ miles in the 50s in the US.

And it really was non-stop in the truest sense. He refuelled on the move (on runways along the route) and even had deployable walkways he could put out so he could service the car on the move or even change a wheel without stopping hehe

But not many cold starts...

Does anyone think he's actually enjoying the ride?

If he averages 50mph then to do 1,000 miles in a day will take 20 hours non-stop. I just can't see how it can be possible to keep that up for 1/3rd of a year in a manner that is enjoyable, safe or worthwhile.

He must be having about 80 - 100 mph as his cruising speed. It also sounds monumentally boring.

Some serious riding there yes

I once managed about 800 miles in a little over 24 hours (400 miles to a gig & 400 back) on a 1960's 250 single but that was 45 years ago and I know I couldn't stay awake that long now, never mind sit on a bike...

I don't know how that's possible - I guess sitting on the Interstate as much as possible but even at an average of 70mph (which is very hard to maintain for 1000 miles) that's a solid 14.3 hrs a day

At 55mph it's 18.2 hrs in the saddle

Seems barely believable given some traffic or a maintenance stop would leave little room for sleep let alone anything else.

I'm almost equal parts in awe and thinking what a waste of resources and time.

A few years back I passed a Swiss registered moped riding into Nottingham.

Don't know if he rode it all the way (maybe from a campervan?) but my initial thought was well done that man!

From watching a few YouTubers who do roadtrips around the USA, there seems to be large swathes of the country where 80+ seems to be the general cruising speed for freeway traffic, and higher than that isn't too hard either. Especially with the legality of radar/laser detectors.

A friend of ours came to the UK from Switzerland to run a 100 mile endurance race, she arrived on a 50cc moped, took her 5 days to get here.

She is currently running around the world, circa 30 miles each day, day after day. Crossing Australia at the moment.
