M and P gone bust ??????
Discussion
Im not surprised. I gave up and sold my R1200RS. The insurance AND the theft risk. Even if its a busy street they'll come out of the woodwork.
Then there's middle aged drivers not wearing prescription glasses or sneaking onto the other carriageway to turn right to avoid a line of stationary traffic.
Its just not worth the hassle anymore. Hence we'll see alot more shops and dealerships close.

There's always been bad drivers. I don't think there's been much change on that front in 25 years of riding. The one thing that does concern me is the number of dash cam owners who might just decide to send a video of a rider over the speed limit because that wasn't a thing all those years back. Theft probably is up, although I wonder how many of those are from locked garages and how many are from those locked on the street..
If M&P have gone to the wall, it's another sad day for the industry as they've been trading a long time.

Are they the same people who used to do the thick catalogue of clothes and aftermarket 'bling' in the 90s?
A shame for all involved either way. It's a tough old world for any business at the moment.
Sounds more like demon tweaks who are still going strong. They of course have the 4 wheel market.A shame for all involved either way. It's a tough old world for any business at the moment.

As a middle aged driver and rider who sometimes does or doesn't wear prescription glasses (I'm long sighted) and sometimes sneaks onto the other carriageway to turn right to avoid a line of stationary traffic I find cars are just not worth the hassle anymore. Hence we'll see alot more shops and dealerships close.
New bikes are now ridiculously expensive and young lads have to do the following to get their unrestricted license:
- Theory Test
- CBT
- Mod 1
- Mod 2
Wait until they're 24
- Mod 1
- Mod 2
It's no wonder bike shops are closing. It's only older blokes who can afford the bikes and didn't have to jump through hoops to do their license. Must admit my KTM has done about 300 miles this year, I've completely lost the love for it.

I spent hours of my youth dreaming of which annodised blue levers I'd put on the imaginary 750 SRAD I couldn't afford or legally ride if I could

I for one won’t miss M&P’s.
Went to buy a new Kawasaki Z900RS, paid deposit and expected it for March 22, had recently passed my test and was excited to get my first bike. Beginning of March came and no bike, messaged salesman to find there was no expected delivery date, pulled my order and went elsewhere for a stock bike, had my deposit refunded against the service of the bike they should have provided.
Went to change Kawasaki, for a BMW 1250GSA, was speaking to the salesman and showed him the exact offer I had from a dealer in London, he didn’t even reply to it, I know he had seen my message as it was sent via WhatsApp. Even if he had come back with I can’t match that but I can do X then I probably would have been inclined to buy local.
Never darkened their door again.
