One day bike rental/tour in Marrakesh - any recommendations?
Discussion
Hi all, off to Marrakesh for a long weekend in early March, have seen a few places that offer bike hire and organised one day tours - E.g Ride Maroc, Oasis Road.
Anyone tried one & has any recommendations? I'll have Mrs B as pillion so not looking for any off road stuff, just be nice to have a day out of the city exploring.

No first hand experience of this but i spent a week in Marrekesh a few years back, it was 40+deg and the roads were utter chaos
My advice would be hire a car, i know its not the BB way to do things. I can't imagine the hired safety gear is very good while the likelihood of having an accident is greatly increased by crap roads, poor driving and being uncomfortably warm on an unfamiliar bike.
edit: one days tours may be okay i thought you were suggesting just hiring a bike

I do this on pretty much every holiday I go on with the Mrs. Just a one day hire and we either explore by ourselves but generally have a guide. I get ridiculously hot on sun lounger and last about 15 mins before being toasted, but put suncream on, jump on a bike and I can be out all day. Occasionally I take my own helmet, always take gloves, otherwise it’s their kit or shorts and t-shirt.
Can’t help with Marrakech recommendations but I had a look to see what was on offer and I think I’d probably contact that Rider Maroc that you found.
Enjoy your trip. And don’t get a car !

Definitely not getting a car, it's a ride or nothing! Have done this in Greece, Canaries & Madeira, I usually bring my gloves & mesh jacket & get a day long route from the hire place to ride.
Just think a guide would be a good idea this time to avoid dodgy roads. I'll hang on until a couple of days before we go in case the weather is crap though...

I did a 4 day trip with wilderness wheels, guided up into the mountains and through the Sahara on part of the old Paris / Dakar route, probably the best motorcycling experience I’ve had.
Last time there we hired a car from Rabat and drove down the coast to Essaouira, interesting but having a guide makes all the difference.
Do it, you won’t regret it (but driving in Marrakesh is a bit chaotic, so I’d avoid that if possible)
