My daily GSX-S1000 was stolen before Christmas so thinking about a new bike for when the sun comes out. Absolutely loved the Suzuki, and there are decent deals on new ones. But for the same money I can get a very low mileage 3 year old BMW S1000R.

Anyone here with experience of both and willing to share an opinion?

No experience, but what will your wrists and back say long term?

Been riding Hayabusa's since 1999, so my wrists and back gratefully received the GSX-S1000 as it's much more comfortable!

Ive ridden my friends 2020 GSX and owned 2’x S1000Rs(gen 2), now on a M1000R

The BMW is a taughter, better handling and braking bike, less pillion friendly, should that be important, and a bit more focused…

The GSX is arguably a better road bike day to day…interestingly, my friend pays more for Suzuki main dealer servicing than I do with BMW.

Lastly, while I have loved all my BMWs,’all have needed warranty work, so buy one approved used from BMW , complete with a 2 year warranty. BMW will be happy to let you test ride one.

That's exactly the sort of info I was looking for! Really appreciate it - thank you!
