So its finally catching up with me, I'm now 42 and although I love my 19 year old gixxer I dread anything over about an hour and a half of riding due to the pain, which has started to cause issues when riding out with my (better off) friends, with their year old bikes with nice supportive seats.

Ive read some info about Saddleman Gel Seats, seems like it may help me enjoy my bike more and for longer. They claim a 400% increase in riding duration.
They seem pretty pricey but for my poor aching arse I think it will be money well spent.

Anyone with any experience of these? And any links to suppliers will be much appreciated, so far only found U.S suppliers (they are U.S. made) and one local supplier DR Bikes near Chesham Bucks which is out of stock.
TIA.
Dan

My arse is even older than yours .
I had a Tiger 1200 that hurt after an hour . I googled motorcycle seat upholstery and found quite a few places and visited one near me .
They uncovered the seat cut some foam out and added a different foam, made the seat narrower, that sounds like it would be worse .
Did it whilst I was there and the narrow seat with different foam was great . I could do at least twice as long before needing a break .
It was £75.

At least that s your only problem. I had to give up my gixxer around the same age as everything hurt after 45mins. Neck, hips, wrists, back although by backside was still ok.

AirHawk seat cushion is the answer. Take time to get the air volume right and it'll be all-day comfortable.

As per above, find a motorcycle seat trimmer and get it re-worked with more supportive foam. That will sort the seat out. I recently had one of my bike seats done by Core Motorcycle near Lincoln https://coremotorcycleltd.com/

Mentally, I am. Physically, I am just about ready for the glue factory.

I tried multiple options before for my VFR. Always found that the attached seat topper things never stayed where I wanted them to and were a pain when you wanted to move about on the seat.

Sent mine off to CM seats in Leicester who did a fantastic job at recovering and adding either gel or memory foam.
