New leather jacket required - thoughts?

So having had a variety of bikes over the past few years, I’ve had a fair amount of different jackets. With my R9T and Harley I had a resurgence AAA rated shirt, then my scrambler and most recently my KTM, I went with a Merlin gable leather jacket.

I’m now on a monster 1200, and fancy a change in leather jacket. My Merlin jacket is great, but it’s a little old skool looking, has all the sealed pockets etc for waterproofing so is a little bulky.

I’m after a leather jacket, which doesn’t have the hump so I look like I’ve just come off a moto gp, but something a little sportier which is ideally a bit longer in length as I wear jeans these days rather than two piece leathers.

So basically I’m after something that is

-longer in length, not cut short
-ideally AAA rated
-relatively sporty looking but ideally without a low cut neck


Does my ideal jacket even exist or am I being just too picky?

I think you’ll struggle with the longer length but sporty look. Obviously depends on how long and how sporty but they tend not to go together.

RST Roadster maybe but that’s not AAA.

Have you looked at Goldtop? Bit more on the retro end perhaps.

Look at Scott leathers. I have the venom jacket. Absolutely superb. Sensible money and will modify to your requirements. I had leather replace the stretch panels and modified to be able to use a belt leather adapter for jeans, which they made for me to my spec.

Longer in length per the OP's original spec?

You can get a zip / belt adaptor for anything.

Yep long enough to wear with jeans.
But I thing they would make it longer if you wanted as well.

I'm not having a go but are there any leather bike jackets shorter than those?

I'm not sure what OP really means by "longer in length, not cut short" but I'd guess he means something other than a standard bike jacket.
