Bike Breakdown Cover
Discussion
I've got personal rac cover which covers me on the bike. Only had to use them once when I had a puncture and it took them a long time to get a suitable van to me. I think the van had to come from Heathrow to Reading and it only came after it finished another job. I complained about the length of time it took acknowledging that circumstances conspired against us but suggesting that they should have more capacity for bikes and they gave me a 3 month extension to the policy for free. Once the van turned up he knew what he was doing, got the bike loaded and took me home without incident. I've stuck with them basically because they had the right kit despite the delay.

AA Cover.. Personal Membership, Roadside, Recovery and at home.
Used for puncture cover mainly.. AA patrols have temp repair kits for bike tyres allowing you to ride to your nearest tyre dealer/fitter for a proper repair to be done.
Warning they don't cover you for accident recovery or where the bike has been damaged and unridable by attempted theft!
RAC will cover for accidents but wouldn't give an answer regarding attempted theft recovery

Like you I've got personal cover, actually joint for me and the wife, covering both cars and the bike. I've noticed this also:
which I found quite strange as they recovered me from slinging mine down the road, though this was three years ago and they may have changed their policy more recently.
I may have to investigate using RAC for next year, though they used to cover specific machines/vehicles, not the people driving them, which is why I went to the AA in the first place.
