Got a family members big birthday coming up.

He used to be mad into his bikes when younger. Then stopped when family life took over etc. He’s fairly recently got back into his bikes, back out riding etc.

I was thinking of maybe an experience day, coached track riding, advanced riding course, enduro day etc. Has anyone got any recommendations? He’s not a racer but thought it might be a bit of fun and maybe learn some new skills to transfer to the road. He’s not a spring chicken so no freestyle MX recommendations please!

Or is there any biker kit you’d recommend? Obviously he has all the usual gear but anything extra you think is worth it?

It all depends on budget, these things are not cheap. I'd personally recommend the James Whitham trackdays. I did one last year and it was great - other than the weather being horrific in the afternoon but this wasn't the fault of the event of course.

Personally I found doing some varied off-road or off-piste things improved my understanding of bikes.
Google 'wheelie school' and 'off road experience' or your preferred brand of off-road bike.
