In his leathers!!!

In honour of his lad Luca, who passed away aged 6 from Cancer, Sylvain has completed the London Marathon wearing race leathers in under 4 hours.
I cannot begin to fathom the pain at losing a child but I salute him for this and his other fund raising efforts in aid of this charity. He seems a deeply decent guy .

Fantastic effort by him.

F*ck cancer

Here’s a link to donate. Other links are probably available, if you’d prefer to find your own for safety.

Shakey Byrne ran it also, albeit not in leathers, in 4 hours 10 minutes. Seb Vettel did 2 hours 59 minutes.

Amazing Feat But there's Leathers for Crashing in and a Suit made of leather to run in!

Ps I could not run 26 miles in any kind of suit. .and I have donated to his worthy cause.

I "think" he wore leathers with the full protection, shoulders etc, not a set made specifically for the run... regardless, I'd struggle to run 2.6 miles, let alone 26 in a suit...

Yep, according to what Hodgson said, it was a 'proper' suit not a special lightweight one, but sized to run in rather than for riding.

I don't run in public as it's vulgar (or possibly due to my knackered physique....), let alone in a leather suit!!!
He must have been in a right state at the end - probably an unpleasant sweaty bruised mess.

Kudos to Sylvan - as others have mentioned, losing your own kid must be absolutely tragic. I'm not sure how I could deal with that if it happened to me....

Just seen him on the Gas it Out podcast, saying 3 days on it's taking him 15 minutes to get up the stairs backwards, and his knees are still bleeding where the knee sliders were rubbing. What a man.

They were talking about this on the Gas It Out Podcast that was released today, apparently it was a proper suit with armour in it and knee sliders etc. Sylvan was talking about how it took 15 mins to get up a flight of stairs on Wednesday mainly due to the sores on his knees that have been bleeding from the suit rubbing!

He has also been in touch with Guinness world records to try and get it made official, think he deserves that.

Epic effort from him and his family, they have been through so much.

I have been lucky enough to spend a couple of days at tracks with him, the last at the end of last year with Alicia as well and they are both amazing, kind people.

Dreadful to have to go through that.

Have to respect that time, even if he wasn't wearing the suit, it's a ridiculous achievement with it.

As someone with a 6yo I can't even fathom what his family has gone through.

What got me is he had the front zip done up all the way round. When it's hot I sometimes having the front zip half undone when riding. Top bloke

Yeah, that's insane. I did the London Marathon in 2005, hardest thing I've ever done. Couldn't go down steps for days afterwards.
