World Ducati Week, Misano, July
Discussion
Anyone going ?
Apparently it s actually open to public on the Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Always wanted to go & was taking the 1098S down on my trailer, had found a camp site and was going to ride to the event each morning.
Once the event had finished, the plan was to then do some TET on my ADV bike.
Hoping that i will be sufficiently recovered in 5 weeks time, from the smash to be able to drive down, but with out the bikes, it won’t be the same.

Went years ago, something like 2010 now.
Rode all the way down to Rimini via Germany, Switzerland went from freezing cold at the top of Stelvio with 6ft high snow drifts to 38C outside Maranello.
It's a great event, but you can do it in a day, two at a push depending upon what was on. You get to look at the WSBK and MotoGP bikes and teams up close and riders meander around the paddock. The demonstration stuff is good, plus if they still have them the workshops where they get designers, engineers to discuss tech etc.
All of the Ducati clubs are represented so if you know anyone going you'll probably bump into them at the UKDOC stand, the final night with the stage/bands is a good event.
If you're there for a few days you can nip to San Marino, Tavullia - Rossi's home town, Coriano - Marco Simoncelli museum easily from the circuit, which are well worth a visit.

I'd love to go, considering it next year with some friends, but the ride could be pretty tough.
To be honest the ride was as good as WDW if not the best part. We didn't book a thing or plan a route other than the hotel in Rimini given it would be busy. Everywhere we rode was kind of spur of the moment and then just rumble into a town/village looking for a hotel with just your phone to figure out where to go and which had somewhere to stay.I think we stayed somewhere near Davos on the first night, it was a looooong day in the saddle, walked into a hotel guy saw our bikes and put them in his barn... next thing beer in our hands as we're checking in. Next morning we were near Stelvio so headed up there got to the summit, phones out deciding on where next.... We could get to Maranello... that was it, straight to Ferrari, directly opposite the gates is a hotel, underground car park and into the tiny restaurant next door, up early did the museum then down to Rimini...
Europe is far more open to bikers, so we had a great time and I'd do it again without hesitation.
I’m going. There are c.25 of us riding down as part of the Ducati Owners Club (London and South East). 3.5 days to get to Misano and then some time to ride the lovely roads and then 3 days at WDW. Some are riding back but I’ve arranged with others for the bikes to be shipped back to the UK.
Ducati are putting on a number of test rides outside of the circuit, including the opportunity to drive a Lamborghini,
Really looking forward to it.

Go on, rub it in lol. I m a member of Ducati Owners Club, but haven t looked on their web site re WDW, but ATM it s wishful thinking on my part, imagining that I will be sufficiently recovered to drive down there, it seems my right hand & wrist maybe more damaged than I imagined, absolutely choked that its likely il be unable to go. Been going down to Misano for the motoGP for more years than I can remember..
It's a decent 2 day ride from the ferry at IJmuiden, well worth it!
Would be interested to see that route! It's a decent 2 day ride from the ferry at IJmuiden, well worth it!
Day 2 - Baden-Baden to Rimini
Within that there are loads of different road/routes available and I make my decision on the day, sometimes hour by hour depending on the traffic and weather.
You can come down the Swiss route into Como, or the Austrian route into Bolzano.
I usually head for the B500 road first thing on day 2, then heading home I try to get the 3 main Alps passes in.

You could cheat slightly. Ride to Dusseldorf, Urlaubs-Express motorrail train to Villach in Austria, then an epic ride down through the Dolomites? SS427 Camaro said:
