Just Been Hit Twice by the Same Driver!
Discussion
Never having been involved in a collision before, what do I need to do?
I've just been rear-ended in slow moving traffic by a Corsa driver. Daylight (obviously), wearing a fluorescent jacket, trickling along in a line of traffic (not filtering) and I get smacked from behind. A cop car was nearby and asked us to move off the main road, as it was busy ...
... I do a left lifesaver before the turn and see a scooter flying up the inside of the bus lane, so don't turn ... only for Corsa driver to rear-end me again! Can you believe it?
"Why didn't you turn left?" says Corsa man afterwards.
"Because of the scooter undertaking me in the bus lane. Didn't you see the scooter?"
"Erm, no."
I've got a quote for the repairs and will get myself checked over by the chiropracter a.s.a.p.
However, never having been in a collision before, what do I need to do? I've got his name, registration no., phone no. and name of insurer.
All advice most welcome.

What a numpty.....i guess the corsa driver had lowered it, white mud flaps and all the added chav'd up stuff to
Advice.....other than putting every detail to the enth degree on the forms....only other thing i'd have done with modern technology is take a pic with my phone of plates, any damage, and face of driver
Friend of mine is being sue'd after being rear-ended, not her fault.....as suddenly the other car claims to have had 4 ppl in it, not the one that was.....all with whip lash - etc etc....twisted world of car driver scammers.....a few phone photos would have saved a whole lot of agro
best of luck.....and a speedy return to riding

You want their name, address, contact number and insurance company details. Claim directly from their insurance if you can - you're not at fault here, you shouldn't have to pay anything and should be provided with courtesy bike etc. for your troubles.
Don't assume that all is well with your bike without getting it checked over. I was hit in similar manner recently and while the stupid cow who hit me said she couldn't see any damage, I stuck to my guns and took the bike to my dealer for an assessment. They found the front and back wheels were 0.5" out of line as a result of the bump and the bike needed a new swinging arm as a result.
Good luck,
Steve.

Thanks for all the advice everyone. Steve, having read your post, I've now spoken to my dealer about getting the bike checked out.
Yeah, I was unimpressed by the police not checking after he hit me a second time.
The guy wasn't in a Max Power, just a regular Corsa, but he clearly wasn't with it. I phoned him later that day, after the accident, and he still didn't seem with it.
Frightening with whom you've got to share the roads, eh?
Haven't managed to think of anything I could've done differently to avoid being rear-ended. (I was already keeping plenty of room in front of me, which at least meant I avoided the shunt shoving me into the car in front.)
Off to the chiropractor tomorrow, due to some back/neck/head pain that developed after the bump.
Cheers
