Best sounding exhaust
Discussion
A favourite was a 3 into 1 Campbell Geometrics with an adjustable baffle on my Triumph T160 I bought s/h in 1980.
Another one back in the day was a Yoshimura 4 into 1 on a Honda 400 4.
Also another one a 3 into 1 Piper a bloke had on his Suzuki GT380 two stroke.
Any other aftermarket exhaust that sound great?

Up until recently I loved aftermarket exhaust systems such as Akra sans baffle. However, sitting in the garden on a sunny Sunday afternoon has become quite unpleasant - hearing the bloody racket from at least 5 miles away is truly antisocial.
Yep, I'm middle aged - keep your stupid loud exhausts for the race track!

As soon as I saw the heading I thought of a guy I used to see almost 50 years ago with a 3 into 1 Piper on his Suzuki GT380 two stroke. Best sound ever.
I bought a 4 into 1 for my XJ650 and it was s
t. I struggled to get the headers to fit and it used to ground out at not very excessive lean angles. It did sound good but sounded even better when the baffles rotted out (disappointingly quickly)
Not surprisingly they gave up on the bikes.
Allspeed expansion chambers / bell mouths on a kh250 , dad went spare & made me start it at the bottom of the road
Race fit on a fireblade , upset the whole culdesac, celebrations when our house went up for sale !!
Akra can on z900 , I don’t think it’s loud at all , but recent hot weather with everyone sleeping with there windows fully open , me leaving for work at 1/2 am had more than a few complaints to the wife the bike was waking the neighbours up .
I take no notice as a fair few of these neighbours think nothing of cutting there grass , talking loudly , music at 7 pm when I’m in bed trying to sleep .

Pretty much every inline 4 sounds the same (unless a crossplane I4) and hearing them screaming with a straight pipe gets pretty boring pretty quickly IMO.
Twins and V4's sound good but the CBX1000 has to be the best surely
I actually miss the noise of a screaming I4, its all big twins, triples and V4s around here now. Twins and V4's sound good but the CBX1000 has to be the best surely
I've got a K8 GSXR1000 track bike with the Titanium Arrow Pro Race exhaust, its incredibly loud but I love the sound.
There's no way I would use that exhaust on the road though, far too loud!
