Stunning looking machine!

Time to trade my 675 in next year when this comes out, even for the looks alone. And of course, it will sound amazing.

Stunning bike and no doubt great to ride but they're just too bloody small for me.

The speed suits me better size wise, but I imagine that this is the better bike pound for pound easily.

Looks the part and no doubt it'll be an epic track bike, but have Triumph gone too far from the original? I had a 2009 and then a 2013 and they were such brilliant road bikes that i wonder if they're losing the fun part? Euro trips etc now tricky with no real luggage/pannier options, forget pillions and no doubt it'll be the thick end of £13k, that's a lot of dough to risk on a track day.
Personally i think Yamaha are going in the right direction with the MT09, great road bike and useable fun, especially if over 6 ft!
I'll probable change my mind when i see it but that's my thought at this stage.

"And of course, it will sound amazing."

It really won't. My 2023 had virtually no sound from the exhaust and made a stupid bwwaaahh noise from the airbox like a cortina with the air filter removed.

Dont get me started on the stupid whining and chirping noises from the transmission which really used to annoy me.

A very overrated bike in my 5 decades of riding experience.

I'm sure the journos will all froth and slobber over it like the second coming and the plebs will sign up the PCP agreements in their droves. And Triumph marketing can congratulate themselves on serving up another turd dressed in sparkly clothes.

Not sure about the track day bit, there's a lot of folk on top end stuff doing trackdays and fewer poor people it seems.

When my FIL goes to them i tend to tag along, he takes his 01 ZX6R and has a blast, the other bikes in the garage tend to be the newest nearly factory spec ducatis or R1s (other high end sports bikes available hehe)

Not often we spot anything interesting which i why last time we went i was amazed by seeing a CBR400 and a bandit 600 with SV tail/clip ons on it

Loved my 2009 when I bought it new but at only 5ft 11ins, I found it tiny.

Friend of mine has a new 765 earlier this year, took it for a spin a month or two ago - swapped bikes mid ride, me on my Gen3 SDR.

It's tiny by comparison, didn't have the grunt but handled beautifully, I could have gotten used to it over time and get the best out of the engine, you don't need more on the road - says me on a 1301cc SDR LOL.

I saw this a a day or two ago and instantly thought that's a bit of me, I'd be keen to see if there's a test rider at my local Triumph dealer, who is also my local KTM dealer.

I mean, if you've been riding for over 50 years, it's probably not marketed towards you is it.

I'm not sure it will be a sales success. Triumph's finance offers are really uncompetitive compared to just about everyone - and I've been looking this summer! The only Triumphs you see locally are the wee 400s. You'd have to really, really want the Triumph over the Monster, F900R, Suzuki 800 etc.

Bizarre comment. No I don't think the 765 Triumphs are particularly well made and worthy of the slobbering adulation poured on them by the journos and you tube influencer crowd. Very few, if any,Triumphs are actually made in the UK and for the most part are marketing and parts bin exercises.

I'm basing this on my personal experience and it is my opinion. You are entitled to hold a different opinion which would be more valid based on personal experience rather than what you read or absorb on social media.

Are you agreeing with me then, and suggesting its marketed towards people without any real riding experience who wont realise quite how wheezy and feeble it is?

I'm glad we agree that it is just a marketing exercise, like pretty much most Triumphs now. A few extra stickers and different colours, a shiny new bolt or two and the turd is polished up and ready to take more money off the inexperienced newbies.

I had a 2010 Street Triple R, it was excellent. I liked the size (I'm 6'3)

It was brilliant fun, mine had Triumph Arrow exhaust on it. Lovely sound, it would even pop flames on the overrun. Brilliant fun. Down a narrow twisty lane I thought it was as real world quick as the Fireblade I bought afterwards

It was an attempt at humour as you sounded a bit angry, thats all. My personal experience was owning two of these, both 675's and sticking on 25k of very enjoyable miles. I was also out on a mates 756R this summer, they are way better than a parts bin or over hyped marketing tool, i'm amazed that your 50 years of experience didn't make this blindingly obvious to you.

Still i've only been at it for just shy of 40 years, so another 10 years in, who knows?

Where they're made doesn't really bother me, pretty much all manufacturers are assembled in all sorts of different places nowadays.

Maybe you've been used to inline 4's with massive power but i genuinely believe there's little to stay with a well ridden Street triple on UK or Euro roads, unless straight-line top speed is your thing?
