Well, after 13yrs in the UAE and cherishing my life too much to own a bike there, I'm finally back on 2 wheels after moving back in March.

Previous to this, I passed my back only a few years prior to moving and had a short stint with a SV650 Curvy.

Coming back to biking after such a long time, I wanted something fairly approachable and when this cropped up locally it seemed just the ticket. 2 owners, 4900 miles and the seller (a doctor I might add) had hardly ridden it in 2yrs ownership.

The bike is a 2019 Icon Dark 800 with a few choice upgrades carried out. Most of them appear decent enough but I'm a novice and a sucker for OEM so I might slowly revert back.

ProTaper Travis Pastrana FMX Handlebars (not sure about these)

Rizoma 29mm Bar Risers & Centred Gauge Relocation Bracket

Dart Marlin Flyscreen

CNC Black Adjustable Shorty Levers (look alright but perhaps lacking OEM feels)

Evotech Performance Oil Cooler Guard

Heated grips

Phone mount & usb connector

Frame, Front Axle & Rear Spindle Crash Bobbins

It also appears to have the Desert Sled cans on but not sure if they were offered in this model as an option.

Getting back into it, its all sensory overload. Took a few miles for the muscle memory to kick in but after that I relaxed into it. It's a very easy bike to ride and seems perfect for this time of year and getting back into it.

Plans are minor at the moment. Get the levers swapped out, bar end mirrors and maybe consider putting the bars back to default but otherwise just going to keep my eye in and enjoy it.

It's due belts soon per my understanding so will get that pencilled in for the end of the year.

The bike came with stacks of paperwork, FDSH and appears well cared for. Paid £3800 for it which I thought was decent.

Some snaps.

Actually it's still there, I just used Gemini to remove the plate and it remove the whole thing! A tail tidy is also on the list of things to do!

Per above, I used AI to remove my plate number and it removed the whole thing and probably made the tyre look weird in the process :-p. That said, it's a Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR so is a fairly road biased knobbly. Another one to potentially look at in future.
