Norton Commando 961 extended warranty ?

I'm one of those lucky folks who managed to grab a 961 SP on Norton's ultra cheap £69 down £69 per month deal a couple of years ago. My contract ends in Jan 27 and I'd quite like to keep it, which means paying the balloon payment of £12k. But not without a warranty extension. That's too scary. I'm not getting far on this with Oakmere who supplied and service it. They just say they're working on setting up a warranty with a third party organisation and I need to wait a month or 2 !
Has anyone come up against this problem, or sorted a warranty extension out for their 961 Commando?

Thanks for the link. Yep, that's all quite an eye opener about residual values at auction. I'm thinking again....
