Gonna go & watch the motogp at Valencia next month as a group of us are on the pi55 in Alicante that weekend anyway - wondered if anyone had been before & could offer advice on the best grandstand/seating to try & book (or any other words of widsom)?

Went to the WSB round in April with some mates on bikes. Fantasic track to watch at. The main granstand on the straight is the best, but from what we could tell, just about anywhere will give you a view of most of the track.

From the main grandstand you could see at least 90% of the track! We're looking at going again for the Moto GP, but most of us are a bit low on holidays

We did Valencia last year and were, if memory serves, in the purple granstand which is just above the pit garages. Because the circuit is in a natural bowl, almost the entire track can be seen from just about anywhere.

We had a hotel very close to the train station - and I would recommend using the train to get to and from the circuit. It's cheap and, although massively packed on practice day, the number they run on race day makes it by far the least stressful way of getting to and from the track.

TAKE A CAP. I didn't. After all, how the hell are you going to get sun stroke in November? I did - and it wasn't nice.

Great circuit, great viewing and, if you can add a couple of days to your trip, a wonderful city.

Thanks for that.

Re the train: We need to be back at Alicante airport for a 1930 flight (time's gonna be tight I know) so we're planning on hiring a car there - we're staying near Alicante - & driving up to Valencia, but would the train be quicker or would it involve too much changing trains & general faffing?

Ar5e! No grandstand tickets left, just "the balcony" which seems to be a grass bank behind the stands at the back of the circuit. Any views on whether it'll be worth going still?

Coudn't tell you about trains - but traffic in and out of Ricardo Tormo makes Donington look like a picnic.

Still worth going - though you might want to pack a small pair of binoculars. Wherever you are you will get a good view of the racing - and the atmosphere is great.

I was worried about that, it might make the whole thing unworkable as the race is scheduled to start at 1400 & we've got a 2 hour drive back to Alicante for an 1830 check in
The train's a non starter as the times just don't work.

I don't know about changing or anything, but trains in Spain run to the minute! Also bear in mind Alicante airport isn't very near Alicante, so whether there's a train that goes to it I dunno. My brief experience of being in that part of the world is that not all Spanish speak English either!....no matter how loud ya shout

Group of us are also going, Friday until the Monday, went last year and decided to camp nr the circuit.(Not a good idea). nice and sunny in the day time but freezing at night...Hotel this time.
Don't buy tickets from the ticket touts as we saw quite a few people paying for tickets and ending up on the big green hill far far away and paying through the nose.
Think our flights have cost £80 + hire car...Wanted to Ride but I seemed to be the only one..Oh well

Have fun

Those are the only tickets left so we've binned the idea.
Would've taken a chance on missing the flight out of Alicante if we could've got grandstand seats but decided it's not worth the risk just to be miles away from the track.

Hope I have not spoilt your what was trip to Valencia. I must say I think your doing the right thing.(Watch it on Tv) You can rent a chair but you would probably need a trip to the doc's after your visit...Did not look comfortable in any way shape or form...Will let you know how it was.
