I always had a hankering for one of these;

Bodywork and tank are 100% carbon fibre.

About £25K brand new, although On Yer Bike had one for £17K.

If you're talking about the one I posted, it's the new GSX-R600.

It is an Aprilia RSV1000R Nero. It was made in very small numbers about two years ago.

SP was based upon the original Mille. It also had an eye watering pricetag of around £22K IIRC.

I bought the middle model which came with the Ohlins kit. A mere £11K when brand new.

With the Nero you were invited to Noale to receive the bike and undergo some on-track training. You also received a tailored set of matching leathers and numerous other items, IIRC. The bike was the same output as the RSV-R1000 Factory but had Akrapovic replacement race cans and carbon bodywork throughout. Very expensive, mutton dressed as lamb if you ask me. A bit like the MV Oro or Tamburini editions.

Rawwr - seen a couple of Gixer Thou' K5s in that matt and gloss black colour scheme. Stunning - definately the colour I would go for, given the choice.

White wheels: great when clean, which is generally for about the first 5 minutes of riding.

Granted the performance isn't dramatically different from the 'Factory', which already has top-spec kit, but the lower weight and exhaust/remapping did give some advantage in tests of Factory vs Nero. The type of difference only a track could show.

If you've ever seen one in the flesh, though, the carbon bodywork is beautiful. Rather like the gorgeous 749R, 998R and 999R which used exposed carbon for the lettering on the bike.
