K&N for Yamaha XT 350...

I'm looking for a K&N filter for a Yamaha XT 350 '96 Vintage.
Sounds simple but the guy that owns the bike wants to do away with the Airbox and stick a cone on instead.
He says the pipe from the airbox to the carb is 1.5" in old money, are there adaptors available to fit a cone to this size of pipe.
Anyone know a reputable supplier for this sort of stuff?
