So........ who dropped their first bike ?
Discussion
Yep
Guzzi V50
Dropped it in a car park and crashed it twice
GPZ550
OK (apart from a few speeding tickets)
CBR600
Crashed 4 time (including riding it into a pub when I was pissed)
ZX6
Uncrashed
Fantic
Crashed all the time. It's nicknamed "the samuri" as once it gets taken out it has to draw blood before we put it away
748
Threw down Cadwell park

I dropped my first bike bike, a zxr750, while trying to get it up an ice-covered step by driving it up using the engine while stood next to it... pretty stupid idea on reflection.
Next time I nearly dropped it I saved it by catching it on the bar with one hand... the bike was gracefully lowered to the floor without damage while my hand dislocated at the wrist.
They need more wheels imo.

Not talking about crashes, was just meaning dropping it, by which I mean when a) pushing it whilst not on it, b) at such as traffic lights, etc, etc
once riding long distance in progressively worsening weather (sleat and snow), i'd had 3 or 4 cups of coffee at the services, get back out into the cold, by next fuel stop i was desperate for a pish, raced in right to the service station doors, trying to get off the bike, hopping about, just walked away from it without putting stand down. d'oh. (then took far too long trying to get through multiple layers to have a leak, but that's another story)
I got knocked off my SV after 10 months commuting (flying squad in Clapham) before I chucked it down the road about a year ago (avoiding an Audi TT that swerved across lanes and then f
d off). It's easy done, but R&G crash bungs have certainly helped minimise the damage - so get some fitted!
Steve.

No one told me not to leave my GSX600 on it's side stand on newly laid (pikey) tarmac ...came back to it, only to find it laying on it's side with side stand embedded into the tarmac!!!
Didn't know you had bikes in the past mate, I thought that was just a threat to the Mrs. so you could get the Lambo

2 day old brand new GSXR600 k3,black and silver, nice glossy black, lovely silvery silver, shiny shiny shiny, anyway, gravel driveway, foot slipped on gravel while pushing bike backwards,it went over so quickly,so easily, held on for grim death 2 inches from the gravel lol,i just would not let it go,grunting like a good un,but, with a sickening gradual, crunch, cracking noise i very slowly had to give it up.Lifted bike up,god they're heavy when they're on their side:-),only a tiny little scratch on the magneto cover,i was well chuffed! Not a mark on the fairings at all,the crunching sounds were horrendous!

Dropped my Bandit6 on the driveway, then got knocked off it 4 months later. A mate now owns it, and he took my 7R for a spin, so I was back on the Bandit. When I got the 7R back, I tried to do a tight U turn on a slope - starting turning and then......clonk. The clipon hit the stop, marking the end of the steering lock - over she went! Crash mushroom went straight through the fairing. Doh!
