...£6! I was expecting it to be a lot more, as it was a full first service, new decals and a new rear indicator, so I thought I'd at least be charged for labour (decal was for panel they replaced when they damaged it, and indicator was faulty originally). I asked how much it would be and was told it was 'a straight £6'! Labour is covered under my warranty apparently!

The only downside was that I'd had my LCD display set to tell the time, so the milage was written down as 237 miles, although the proper milage is 638miles. The guy doing the service managed to not see the large "PM" after "2:37", so put it down as 237 miles . Anyway, the garage has been told and the stuff to be sent off to Gilera has been changed. And the bike feels faster and smoother.

Only problem is at the moment I can't get ANY heat into the engine . Its running at less than 40 degrees all the time on my runs, which today were around 45 minutes each, and I'm worried its going to seize the engine (bloody 2 strokes ), but I can't do anything to make it heat up anymore because of the weather...and the rain.

Errr....who was that direced at?

And your 'suggestion' was a load of bollox, I said I don't want to sieze my engine and if anything that will do it for me. At high revs on a standstill the clutch will be burnt out, and carbon deposits will build up on the inside of the engine.

Is the bike air cooled or water cooled,if water cooled you could put some tinfoil over part of the rad

Yeh, its a Gilera DNA 50, radiator at the front. So its water cooled.

Is the best way to really cover the radiator with foil? Seems a bit...well...primative...(probably a good thing in my case .

BTW, that link seems to be messed up, but I'm guessing its a picture of a DNA50 from the end of the link - theres a pic of my bike on my profile.

>>link works now. yup, right colour as well

You could use cardboard, all you are doing is restricting the airflow thus raising the water temp

Don't worry about it, with two strokes the time to start worrying is when the engine overheats and the piston melts onto the cylinder wall....
