is there a minimum cc you can take on a track day?

do you need a full licence to go on a track?

i have a restricted licence but have seen a 600cc track bike, but i don't know if i would be able to ride it.

any help would be appreciated!
where's best place to book bike track days by the way? i know where to go for cars but i don't think they do bikes as well.

i know this is probably in the wrong forum, but hey, c'est la vie!

Minimum engine size on a track - not really an issue, you'd just find organisers would try to put similar ability machines and riders together. Afterall, all sizes of engines are used in racing. Re. your license, the restriction on your license is for road riding no? I'm not sure if it's even relevant to track use. Call the track you'd want to go to find out if they have any policies on restricted licenses.

depends on the track sometimes.

Ive seen 125CC L plates in the beginner sessions, Ive also been out with restricted sv650's.
Most require a full licence, some don't.
www.uktrackdays.co.uk is a good place to start.

minimum cc on a track, in all honestly i would have thought there isnt one but the day isnt likely to be fun on a RS50 is it?, ive never done one on anything less than a 250 2 stroke and ive found a sports 600 to be the best around a track.

Like other things in life size is not so much the issue, more what you do with it missis

Couple of yrs a go a bike mag put the 'average' biker- (couple of track days few yrs road experience) on a blade & BSB guy on various bikes (think it was Sean Emmett but can't remember) let the guy lap all day on the blade & get faster & faster- yet BSB matey was still quicker on a Honda CB500 & an RS125!

I've got a feeling that you do need a full road licence to do UK trackdays - certainly I have been asked to bring mine along on the ones I've done in the last couple of years. California Superbike School was the last thing I did on track & they definitely needed it.

I *think* (and happy to be corrected on this) that the only way you can exempt yourself is if you have an ACU licence??

I would definitely check this fact before booking up & handing your money over incase you lose your deposit!

I know sometime you can have be on with a restricted licence. There was a girl on a day I was at last year on a restricted SV650

Good girl too, got her pegs on the deck, unfortunately got scared and over reacted, ended up on the grass with a broken handlebar
