anyone fitted a Scottoiler?

cheers
and
er, cheers
Fitting is pretty straight forward. They had instructions on their site for my installation and the most difficult thing is routing the pipework and finding somewhere to fit the res. I fitted mine behind the number plate. It picks up more dirt there but the flow rate isn't affected by engine temperature which makes getting the flow rate much easier. I had a system installed for me on a zx6r and the res was down the near the engine... it was impossible to get the flow rate right. Now, on the blade, it work perfectly... no oil on the wheel, plenty of lube on the chain.
Yes, well worth doing I am the worst at chain maintenance - I'll forget to lube the chain for ages then over lube to compensate so chains never last too long also I find with most 'non-fling' spray on lube (that still 'fling') that the dust sticks to the lube and wears the chain out faster, the greases are OK put a real pain in the arse to use.
I got one a couple of years ago on my Ducati and I'm a convert, get the dual injector as its far better than the single one - the constant supply of oil not only lubes but also cleans the chain, I don't get lots of crap on it now, the only problem I had was initially it was too close to the, quite loose, chain and the injector got 'eaten' by the rear sprocket/chain (they're plastic so no damage to the bike)
but it is a tight installation on my bike with not much space to fit it in. I refitted it with more clearance and it's been fine since, the only routine maintenance now is checking chain tension (less often than before) and cleaning the wheel - which you need to do however you lube your chain, Chain lubing is best little and often - which is what the Scottoiler does.
I wanted a discrete installation and so the oil container is under my seat which puts it right near the exhaust, which initially caused problems with heat/oil flow however I now use the Thicker Hot weather oil and although the bottle is hot it's fairly consistent so the flow doesn't really vary much due to the weather and I have less problems than many others whose oiler is affected by hot/cold weather.
At first I did try the standard single injector which wasn't so good as it only oils one side of the chain and so to get good coverage you need a higher flow which is messy so I got the double sided injector which is much better but a bit more difficult to fit/align (especially on a 525 chain) Oh and the single injector looked cack.
Well worth the money in my opinion, your chain/sprockets will last longer and life will be much easier.

Some bikes (like my other half's XJR) are a piece of Pee, others (my ZRX) are a ball-ache.
But, Scottoilers are well worth fitting, and the people that sell them wrote the book on customer service. Nothing, if it relates to their product, is too much trouble for them. Short of sending somebody to fix your kit for you, they're really helpful. I had a problem with an early twin feed, the end kept falling off (they altered the design very quickly, they don't any more) and I got a pile of bits the following day to fix the problem, FOC, with an extra tube of superglue.
Would I fit another bike with a Scottoiler? I'd be bloody stupid not to. You can forget about adjusting the chain (almost). Oil is cheap, replacement sprockets and chains are not. You do the maths.

If you havent sorted the Oiler now, here's another vote for fitted once ...
And another vote for one. Utterly brilliant (once you've set the right flow rate, which is easy peasy). Virtually no need to adjust the chain between services.
