I am probably going through my mid life crisis but am getting seriously keen on getting one of these trikes www.rewaco.com/gb/overview.aspx
Just wondered if anyone in here has experience of such machinery.
One thought I have had is that although one can get seat belts fitted I get the impression most owners don't so should you come to an abrupt halt the chances are unlike a bike when you go over the handlebars you will end up with your legs wrapped the handlebars

Remember all the disadvantages of a car (traffic) with all the disadvantages of a bike (weather) Not sure about now but in the past trikes upto a certain weight did not need seat belts but you had to wear a lid, trikes over acertain weight you had to wear seat belts. Most people have neither and rely on the plod not knowing the law about trikes.
I have never had a road going trike but I did have a side hack for a bit whilst on L plates. Same problems as above plus very asemetric handling.

They look very nice for cruising about in the summer but if you want a performance kick with the wind in your hair then have a look at a westfield or similar with an aeroscreen like mine.
Edited to add: or stop dicking about and get a bike

Well, as a lover of most things petrol-powered and rapid (cars, bikes, jetski's etc.) I'm going to buck the trend here. I used to think trikes were totally pointless and daft, but having seen some impressive looking things at the NEC over the years I've changed my mind a bit. Now, don't go getting the wrong idea here, I can't see anyway I would ever have one myself as long as I am able to ride proper (as in 2-wheeled) bikes, but I can sort of understand the appeal of a properly sorted, fast trike. Beetle-engines no way, and I've some some truly tatty crap made from a car rear-end and a bike front end, or a bike with 2 wheels put on the back and an extra fender etc. (not that they're all crap but I've seen loads that are and look more like rat-trikes - not nice, not nice at all
).
The ones you've linked to though, they look good and should be fun. And that's what it's all about to me - FUN. I've got plenty of impractical stuff : Corvette has next to no luggage and drinks fuel at an alarming rate, as does the Camaro - Duke has 1 seat and is a torture rack to ride at town speeds etc. Jetski - it's a stand-up so utterly useless for anything except having a laugh, but what the hell, they are all huge fun
.
I say if you like it, go for it, and have fun, but don't ever think of it as a Bike, or a Car, it's neither - enjoy it for what it is.

If you've got to have one, then this is the one to get :www.grinnallcars.com/content/trike/r3t/gallery.html
