I don't normally ride in the winter these days as I'm old and cowardly but today I had to use my bike for work. It's a 30 mile ride and my hands were freezing, I can cope with cold toes but a numb throttle hand is no fun.
Current gloves are Frank Thomas goretex, thinsulate jobies that are pretty new. Bike is a '92 Trident 900 so no fairing. In the past I have had faired bikes and heated grips but nothing seams to work.
Any advise in what is the daddy of winter gloves would be apprieciated.

I had thought of them, my brother had some years ago and they always looked kind of crap. I was hoping that someone had come up with some uber gloves that really kept your hands warm. When I started out a donkey jacket over your leather jacket was the height of winter protection. Pretty much every aspect of bike gear has moved on but gloves still don't seam to cut it.

I found that wearing silk inner gloves, wind proof inner gloves (like the oxford ones) and waterproof leather gloves works on all but the coldest days. Bar muffs are best though as they keep the wind off.

I have a set of Texport Defender Pro's. I don't find I need an extra inner glove. They work for me, don't know if you could say they're the daddy though.

Hein Gericke do some, like lobster claws.

I use them when it's cold and find them brilliant. No more problems of frozen finger tips and no need for muffs.

They're not dear either and well worth the money.
