now im not a biker but the other day my dad went to a glasgow motorbike shop and bought a ex-demo mt-01 this is a stunning bike but as i was following him out he hit grit and the back slid round and his leg, shoulders and arms are all sore and even bruised and i thought this was caused by the small amount of oil on the back tyre.

please tell me what u think. thanks

Was the bike OK?

he did but there was a small amount of oil on the back wheel do you think this caused the back to swing round

I don't know.

New tyres, cold roads, grit, new bike, bit of oil.....lots of dangerous factors there...

If you are thinking of complaining to the shop, I don't think that there is much point. Sounds like he put down too much power on a road with poor grip. You can't go back afterwards and expect someone else to take the blame for his -up. Unless the tyre was covered with ffresh oil, then it is not really going to have contributed hugely to the off.

Sounds like plain and simple he used too much throttle on a bike he was not familiar with.
