Hobo - R6 - Cadwell - Rain & Hail. Result?
Discussion
Only 29 people turned up today - the quietest trackday I've ever been on. Fast and intermediate groups were put together and there were 7 novices. Huge amounts of track time!
Anyway, down to business, here's a few pics;
Hobo getting ready for his first session out (note the sunshine)
Now here's a sequence of shots taken late morning, when Hobo had got his eye in a bit more and his pace was steadlily increasing.
Huge thanks to Mark for letting me take the R6 out after my fuel pump started giving me grief, all I can say is what a bike! A bike that makes a GSXR feel so past it as that thing was just so amazing - redefines what a track bike should be, on stock suspension, tyre pressures, everything!

Immense fun.
The track was wet to start with but soon dried out & stayed this way until lunchtime.
After lunch, the heavens opened for a short time. Hail & rain soaked the track & made it no fun (for a pleb like me anyway).
As Stu said, his bike had fueling problems & so we did a couple of sessions on my bike & then left for the day around 2.30pm.
The day cost £70 (I think) & was well worth it. I am looking at doing another day at Cadwell in May.
Stu bedded in the edge of the tyres for me, so at least it looks like I ain't got the 'chicken strips' anymore, although I only got within around 1 or 2cm of the edge myself.
In the wet I found it a bit nerve wrecking. I was probably the slowest in my group (although I was the only one who had been riding 4 weeks, with all the others having a number of years behind them).
However, when it dried out I found myself being able to keep up with some bigger bikes around the twisty bits, only to loose out on the straights. Was going to overtake a ZX9 by outbraking it into a corner but kept bottling it.
The 'wheelie' incident was a bit on an eye opener. I'd love to say it was all planned & that I was in full control, however, I was just going up the 'mountain' & keep the throttle on all the way. When the top came the bike just went up & up & up. I backed off & the bike went back down. Its an ace photo that which I will be getting a print of & have it in the office or at home. Maybe one day I'll be able to do such a 'trick' on purpose.
Cheers again Stu for the assistance on the day & the plentiful supply of coffee to keep me awake. May ?

Great pics.
Going to Cadwell for the first time myself on 16th May, are there any noise restrictions? I have an akrapovic on my Tuono and would not want to ride all the way there and get excluded.
I pulled an involuntary wheelie at Goodwood, scared the s... out of me! I'm sure I did not look as in control as you appear to be, many people would have kept quite and basked in the glory.

May is a definite maybe, depending on work/fuel pump/p/x for an R6/Le Mans funds! Happy to meet a bunch of PHers there too perhaps.
I do have a few more pics, when I've a bit more time, I'll pop them up.
My bike is very loud with it's race can and there was a very very lound race spe CBR6. Nobody got noise tested at all, so I think you're safe for the trip.
Mark, you have mail.
Many thanks, glad about that, it means I dont have to get my mate to take the standard can just in case, will hopefully see you there.

NO! They grip more than leather, and may start you rolling if you come of, resulting in flailing (& broken arms). Looks like you had a great day though!
