Wondered if anybody has an recommendations here... I'm not much of a car washer as it goes - prefer to be driving than washing but... thought I'd try and clean the bike more often because it's smaller and shouldn't take most of the day!

Are pressure washers ok to use on the engine etc? What about actual products - wondered about metal polish for the exhaust etc.

Thanks, Rob.

Available at most bike shops, all you'll ever need.

Pressure washers can do evil things to greased suspension joints, decals, electrics, ignition switch, painted wheels... Use at low pressure and with caution.

Don't go thinking that just because a bike is smaller it won't take longer to clean. For a proper job expect to take about 3 hours, a weekly rinse can take 30 mins but you'll always find nooks and crannies that need to be dealt with if you go for the big clean.

My next door neighbour from a few years ago used one of those weed killer type, 'pump it up' sprayers that you can get from garden centers / B&Q etc. it seamed to be quite good at getting to awkward bits but it was gentle enough aswell - must get one myself.
