Solenoid Problem Advice

My CBR400rr broke down the other day so I called the RAC out. The guy fixed the problem but said it could happen again...and it did!

This is what he wrote down. 'Poor connection starter motor solenoid input. Made connection good, may require new wire and connection form solenoid.'

If i replace the starter solenoid will this fix the problem?

It sounds like it's not the solenoid itself, but the wires connecting to it. I had a similar problem to this on my SV, because Suzuki used a cheapo plastic connector for the job. With some suitable heavier duty soldering of my own I've kept the original solenoid (replacement £50) and not had a problem since.

could you not bump start it ? not a cure i know but would get you going .
