Great stuff! Got an "ETA" yet??
Pick it up next Saturday, the 19th!!! Oh yes !!
Fantastic. I'm guessing it'll have to be run in, before giving it the beans??!!
Yeah..
apparently it says 300 miles in the book but the dealer has suggested 600 miles then the first oil change after that not sure. I want to give it large...

good luck with the bike, i can assure you thier a brilliant bike and you will not be dissapointed.
james did you go for the pilot 2cts in the end?, was just curious what you ended up getting, have done about 1500 miles on my bike now and absolutly love it now im complety used to it, the best bike ive owned-you were right

I've had the 1st service done on my GSXR (600 miles) and have <10K RPM with the full rev range available at 1000 miles.
The biggest frustration is having to look at the rev counter to ensure I'm not giving her too much
I probably have on quite a few occasions now!
At 700 miles so only 300 to go... and then it's
Congratulations on your purchase - post some pics and let us know your initial thoughts. The Biker section of PH is getting busier!

I'd say don't give your new steed too much until the first oil change has been done. The reason for this being their may be bits of swarf in the oil caused by running the in process. It's probably fair to say that you can give your bike more stick than is recommended by its maker however, since their running in requirements are there to avoid them incurring bills from the consumer, not to ensure your engine makes maximum power.

Your new bike is likely to have been run at maximum load and revs right the way through the gears on the factory rolling road long before you see it. Loading the engine from new is the only way to bed the rings in properly. This is IMHO but quite a lot of other people's too.
The reason they tell you to take it easy is so that you don't crash
Enjoy your new bike

Well done - nice bike. I hope "mrsCBR" took the news well!![]()
Mrs CBR actually said, "Just order it you know you want it"
She has been very good especially when we have a 14 month old and she has only just gone back to work after maternity leave. She didn't even mind that i was out playing golf last night...
I guess i just have a wonderful wife... and NO none of you can have her!!!

Thrash it from new please.
There was a post on here once, with a link to this site, where some bloke "proved" that caning a new engine was in fact the way forward.
Think that's what he was saying......
Have you seen the shit that comes out in the oil of a rin in engine??? if you had you wouldn't suggest thrashing it
