R1 Shift light - help!

Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone can tell me how to set the rpm that the shift-light on the '04 R1 goes off at? Im off touring on it soon and if its after dark the bastid thing blinds me when it goes off at 6 grand or whatever it is.

You need to turn the bike on using the RED key whilst holding the SELECT button. The instructions on changing the shift indicator, clock brightness etc is on page 3-12 of your manual.

i remember this was re set on mine when the battery was taken off and it was very annoying when it started flashing at 5000rpm, i cant remember how to do it from memory now but it is described in the owners manual and isnt very difficult to do.

Thanks, managed to locate a YAM site where you can search, view and download the owners manual for gratis. Like the chav in the filing cabinet - sorted.
