What do you guys (and gals) think of them?

For me doing a wheelie makes me feel like I have an eleven inch penis. (not that i need any extensions)

When I pass someone on the mono they either love it or shout T***er!!

So what do you think?

Very big and very clever?

or

Very stupid and very dangerous?

I personally think big and clever.

The feds take a very dim view of any mono related activities - front or back wheel. You may get a cheeky Dangerous driving charge if they catch you. Beware!!

Personally, I think unless you can keep it up (oh er) or can do a stand up then don't bother, unless you are truly quick, and can launch a 200yard minger away from the lights, go up into 3rd, pop the front down then f**k off into the distance, in which case - nice!

I also think it looks a lot less RD350ish if you can gently pull the front up in the power, rather than either clutching it up, or giving it a massive tug after you've rolled off the throttle. Each to their own I suppose (PS nothing wrong with strokers, but 4stroke bike should have enough torque to lift the front w/o using the clutch)

Really stupid and really dangerous....People who do this are all ************.............. That's until I learn of course, then I'm sure it'll be really cool.

Bet you can't straight line a right angled bend, drive up a mud bank and slide the bike down the road like I can?! (sorry for keep going into it guys!)

You are right once you can do it it is COOL!

I am in the gang that thinks they are big and clever as long as they are done fairly safely, ie, if you are out with your mates and the road is clear, not overtaking some granny in her battery powered little car.

I myself have only just learnt. Did it on the power, does stay up for long (funny that is what this missis said ) but i am getting there, really cool when it goes up though

Not really either, more "a bit pointless"! It does become very stupid (and pretty dangerous/funny in equal measures) if you get it wrong, not to mention expensive.

As fergus said, it's OK if you can manage a real 200yd plus, up through the gears job, but other than that - why bother?

Truly superb explanation.

As for wheelies. They're best when they're big, and they take a huge amount of practice and skill to get right, thus they're clever too. So yes, big AND clever.

Plus, dangerous driving is a criminal offence (not just a 'summary' offence as per most driving offences). You may find it difficult getting a job with a crim record...

Time and a place

Big and Clever

Wrong Time and Place

Stupid and Dangerous.

I cant pull mine up for toffee, but watching others wreck their machines is funny.

Sheeeeite! Think I might have to knock them on the head then, apart from when it lifts slightly going over crests. I mean that's unavoidable isn't it?

Why would you want to ride in wellies, unless you were going through a flood?

wheelies are about the coolest thing you can do on a bike from a spectators point of view (knee down is more exciting for a rider i reckon) and are so easy on most bikes as to make it your duty

i remember being awestruck seeing an LC350 popping a wheelie as a kid, and i've seen kids standing open mouthed as i mono'ed past them on my bike, as well as boy racers getting red faced with inadequacy and jealous embarrassed rage after you wheelie past them (optional hard stare in through the window with iridium visor and finger)

and that's only crappy low speed power wheelies (30 mph, whack throttle open - hey presto)
