Bike suggestions

I am really getting the urge to buy another bike for the summer.

My main problem is insurance. In 2 years I have crashed and had 2 bikes stolen thus potential premiums will be unthinkable for anything high grouped.
Secondly, I will not be using it that much at all thus i don't really want to spend very much. Budget around £2k but will go up to £3k if something excites me.

So far a KTM 250 has been suggested which I suspect would be a lot of fun.

More suggestions please.

get a zxr400....hilarious, cheap to insure, fuel and run! Just make sure you get maxton to sort out the rear suspension.
