Well, had the bike 6 weeks and have come off! Was out with a mate Saturday and had a nasty low side. Left hand bend leaning her into the corner when all of a sudden the back went (i think) next thing i could feel heat coming through my leathers on my arse and hip. Now this left is the one off of the main roundabout as you come off the M20 for leads castle, all the locals will know it, going down to the smaller roundabout. As you know this is a double laned bend, i came off in the inside and started sliding directly to the central barrier (like you get down the middle of the motorway. At this point i was thinking sh!t this is going to hurt and i have hit the barrier and from what i can make out bounced off the barrier and road a few times until eventually coming to a stop face down in the road. Ouch

The next thing i know cars are stopping to help me, 1st of which was an of duty copper who called the ambulence and was really nice, next was an off duty paramedic so he kept me calm while waiting for the ambulance which seemed really quick, not sure if i blacked out or not. Then the traffic cops turned up on their bikes.

I could only see a bit of my bike but there were no handle bars!

They put me on a board and gave me some gas, removed gloves then helmet stuck me in ambulance and off to hospital. Had two x-rays on my leg and shoulder. Most of the pain was in my right shoulder from hitting the barrier and yes i have fractured my shoulder, the top of the humorus has come off and ing hurts. Leg just brused and cut, brused everywhere else too.

Am so glad i was wearing all my gear, the leaters deffinately did there job, i would not have any skin left without them and am sure my shoulder would be worse. Helmet is a right mess big crack and chips out of it will definately recommend Shoei.

The copper seemed to think the bike would be a write off but we will see what the insurance says. 2.5 year on my CBR600FY and nothing, six weeks on the new one and this. The think is it didnt make sense, i was following Jay who was on brand new tyres and he went round fine, mine just gave way, just one of those thing i suppose.

Ride safe

unlucky matey!!!

At least you can still type and your spelling aint bad either - the humourous - blimey thats going to be f*ckin painful - I did a detatched collar bone 3 years ago @ Rockingham raceway - that took about 2 years to be right!!!

I opted for the no-op approach as, apart from a big sticky out bone and a slight lean to the right - the end result, movement etc, is exactly the same and I was told that I would probably do it again in my lifetime.

Good luck mate - lots of physio - a positive mental attitude and just get back on ASAP!!!!

ooooops - forgot to say - well done for having all your kit ON - the amount of complete WANK*RS I have seen this weekend on sports bikes with shorts and even bloody sandalls on is astonishing!!

Ride safely!

Wow, really bad luck and sorry to hear about the bike but at least you're going to be fine...

So, what caused it then - any ideas at all...? sounds like all was good and the bike chucked you off for no real reason???

Mate, Really sorry to hear this....I know how you feel. Still, you'll live to ride another day, so it could have been worse. Good luck with the recovery.

Cheers.
