Turned up, moved on by the police
Its a shame that a few idiots and a load of Tossers in the flats have ruined it for everyone.
Our group (12 bikers) moved to the park. we found a quiet area, parked the bikes in the bike bay and got hassled by the Parks Police.

I took my son and his mate down on Friday in my car. I was embarassed, after the build up I gave it. It's a parody of its beginnings.
I suspect the venue has run its course. I had a bike swerve in front of me and stop illegally on the double yellows on the bridge. Moron didn't even realise he was riding like a moron....bit like the sort of guy who hogs the road in his Volvo, I thought.
The meet originated in the days when BSAs and Triumphs ruled the world. Working class lads had to save up half a crown to buy a nice hot cuppa at the van on the bridge and some petrol to bomb up and down the south circular.
Many of these guys I saw on Friday didn't remind me of being very closely related to that sort of thing. No one I saw remotely resembled the leader of the pack. More like team leader at Price Waterhouse Coopers, perhaps?
I felt a bit intimidated by all the grown ups in flourescent jackets.
I also feel cross with the idiots in the flats. Were they all so intoxicated with their own wealth and power that they didn't take the elementary precaution of checking out the neighbourhood before purchase?
The land on which their ugly flats are built used to be railway sidings serving Battersea Power Station. Lads could make lots of noise without bothering any one. The site at the end of its industrial life also hosted some great car boot sales. Conflict inevitably develops after changes of use. This conflict is all the happy legacy of Thatcher and her cronies like Sir Paul Beresford and assorted asset stippers.

...and they're STILL playing with the area:

BATTERSEA POWER STATION UP FOR SALE?
Following the article in the Estates Gazette on 24th June, rumours are ciculating that Parkview has put Battersea Power Station up for sale owing to cashflow problems.

Wandsworth Council, however, does have very benign motorbike parking policies. These have been fostered by an enlightened senior policy officer, who also has a bike, I believe. I wish the other London borough tried as hard.
