noticed vibration through bars
Discussion
i was rolling my bike back into the garage last night and i noticed a small amount of vibration and a kind of rubbing noise for a split second on each revolution of the wheel, the brake pads still have life in them and the bikes only done just over 3000 miles does anyone have any ideas at all?
There's some kind of distortion to the surface of the disk. My suspicion is this is a deposit of material from the pad (we've had a similar discussion going in the Cerbera forum). If you pads have got hot, say from an extended period of spirited use and then the bike is held on the brakes, the hot pads transfer material to the disk. Theory is that this can be removed by repeated hard braking, although you never brake to a stop, you must keep rolling afterwards. Just don't chuck it down the road trying this technique!
Hope that helps,
Steve

would the material be easily visable on the disc?, i will give it a go brakinghard without stopping-trouble is those radial brakes have tremendous stopping power.
It might not be visible. The way most bike calipers work, is that the shape of the hydraulic seal around the piston, pulls it away from the surface of the disc. It only takes a small imperfection in the surface for cause the pad to drag as you rotate the wheel. Do you notice anything when you use the brakes when riding the bike or is it just wheeling it around? If it's the latter I'd be less concerned, if it's the former, call your dealer up and ask them to explain.
